I realy love a Real Good Thunderstorm! .. When the heavens crack open, the Lightning flashes, the rain pours down ..... Those times I like to sit outdoors, in a sheltered spot, like under the big big tree in my backyard,
and revel in it! (just joking, about the tree!)

on Safety Precautions in Thunderstorms.......!No, I don`t sit under big trees - I prefer the top of the flagpole on the soccer fields next to my house - I get a birds-eye-view of all the surrounding countryside and can see the lightning for absolute miles around!! A bit difficult to clime when its raining, but I wear a wetsuit now and that makes climbing much easier. To get down I just shed the wetsuit and slide down the pole......

But, of course, when the soccer fields are in use - the Swissies are not put off by little things like rain, thunder, lightning ...... then I use the extremely tall wooden pole that holds the electricity wires to my house. Wont always be able to use it though .... we soon putting in modern underground cables - but I gonna ask them to leave the pole anyway.......I think its taller than the flagpole.....

I bet you could scream bludy loudly if the metal one was hit by lightning while you were pole dancing out of your wetsuit.

Under a Big Tree?Oak-Tree no less?
Been so close to Lightning Strikes,the Metal Structure in the Building got Charged up,could hear the crackling of the Electricity just prior to the Mainstrike nearby into those Metals we had piled up to Recycle.
Those were quite some storms,going on for hours,the Electricity Provider shutting down the Grid to keep damage to a minimum.
But I like to watch that Raw Power!!!
