HondoLaneNJ: Haha...you said nothing I didn't think, or that my sister's didn't shout at her in person lol. My ex got hers, that day.

But in the end: I don't blame her...I couldn't stand to look at me either, for a while. Went I went overseas, I was 6ft, 230lbs, pretty good shape...all the training and all...

After the attack, I went from 230 down to 151lbs in 2 weeks. Well...about 30lbs of that was leg I guess...lol. My pelvis was crushed as well, it folded like a book when the vehicle flipped (wear your seatbelts folks!) and the doc's said I couldn't have kids anymore...so she used that too...Although my sister says she believes she was seeing this guy while I was gone...in the end: it doesn't matter because here I am. It's sad more then anything. I remember, we would maybe be in the mall or wherever, and I would see a real old couple walking or hobbling along, and point them out...I would smile and say "Look honey: that'll be us in 50 yrs!!" ....I honestly believed it...oh well...God made other plans for me I guess.....

Again: thanks for all the nice words everyone!
Hello Buddy, hold your head up and look forward, you didn,t do anything wrong.

To be honest mate Id say she used it as an excuse ,

The only way I can see it being a problem is if you keep going on about poor old you (im not saying that you are at the moment), the fact you don’t have any legs is just a small part of you there is so much else a girl could focus on don’t worry about the leg thing if she thinks it doesn’t bother you it more than likely wont bother her , so now go forth and find the girl of your dreams heart wings

Whats on the outside may be the first thing we see about a person but that fades into insignificance when you get to know whats in someones heart.

HondoLaneNJ: Just wondering because I am new here and last time I dated, I had 2 legs! Just wondering what you ladies might think about that? Does it really matter to you? Turn you off? My ex couldn't handle it: found some biped on another dating site and took off with him. Or maybe used it as an excuse? Hard to day what's in anothers heart but....anyhow...what are your views on it?

giggle wave

No it doesn't bother me at all .. I look after amputees quite often.

I attach a leg every morning actually giggle

I hear you Crotalus: I never did go into the "Oh woe is me" phase, not outwardly anyway. Mostly because I hate that nonsense in other people!

But let's face it: We do live in a very "appearance oriented" society...I had to debate with myself, about whether or not to post that pic of me with the prosthesis...in the end, I did it to be honest and to weed out anyone who would be turned off by it...sad to say, but I am sure some women are. But that's their right...

Not as much as you would think , but if that does affect your confidence why not start body building ??? If guys in wheelchairs can do it (and look fantastic) there is no reason a guy with a proteases cant do it, most bodybuilding competitions now have category’s for people with physical disability’s check out the Arnold classics website

Look on the bright side there are also women that are attracted to amputees grin

Hey thanks Indy....I have my moments, to be sure. But by and large, I try to keep positive and forward thinking...can't be living in the past ya know?

Marriage is nice...I'd settle for someone nice to date...we'll see.

I have never dated an amputee but I personally would have no problem with that. I don't care how many body parts you do or don't have......it is your heart that counts. To me...outward appearance doesn't count for anything. Jerks come in all shapes and sizes. And wonderful people come in all shapes and sizes.

I think your ex was looking for an excuse and this just happened to work. I admire your courage and wish you only the best. You seem like a great guy with a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. teddybear

Welcome to the forums and hope to see you often!!!!!wave
