Seriously though, if you have to choose or even get the chance to choose, pot. Drinking kills other people, pot doesn't. I would rather have someone coming at me on the highway high on pot the slooshed on booze, and you do not see too many people getting into bar fights because they are high, it is all love and peace and eating too much. Just for notation, I do neither angel

good question,,,last night my daughter called me after the driver got taken in for a DUI..in her car, I am soo glad she knew it was ok to call her mom and that I wouldmake her feel as good as poosible given the circumstances(after a night out partying) Both my children are open with me about their chemical habits and i am grateful, so that i an share my knowlegde and experience.I am 47 and do not share iwth my mom the way they share with me---my part is all education--legality vs dependency vs alterantives.I keep an opne mind and an open mouthwith my 20 and 22 yr old and they keep coming back ---so I think it is all good!!(butttttttt, damn! i really wish they would keep it a secret from me)

hmmm Well, seeing that my children are all grown, it is hard to tell them what to do.But if i had a say in the matter, i would say Smoking Weed!! I know what it is like to live with a serious boozer!!, they loud and mean and violent. My kids are into their own thing, and drugs are not that. They all have families of their own.

I would hope it would be a never situation. Raising a child in the Church is a good beginner. IF you don't like a church try another and another until you find one that you can raise your children.(Baptist has good Children programs for all ages. No I am not a Baptist either.) Yes Children are going to experiment, especially if they see their parents doing it. I was a Detention Officer for 3yrs and I seen too many repeats because the parent wanted to be a friend instead of a parent. I hope you don't want to see your child wraped around a tree or lying dead in a ditch because one was better than the other. You have to start young also. Sometimes it means you will have to sacrafice things you like to do. But that is what good parents do.teddybear

Well either one would be a big improvement over what my daughter used to do.
Thank goodness she's straightened out a lot now.

You have to talk about these issue before they start doing wrong things. You have to tell them what is wrong and what is right and above all give them a good exemple, they must see in mother and father their "models" in society.
I have a daugther with 37 and a son with 35, they are nice people, good citizens. My daugther is giving a very good education to my grand daugther. We don´t have problems in the family. When I was young I had another person who was my "heroo" a old friend of the family and today a see my self as his intelectual daugther. He passed away many years agoo, but I always remember him. Children need good exemples.
I don't know if I have give any answer.

If I had to choose it would be pot, the reasons have already been said ,so no need for me to repeat them ,and for those that think alcohol or tobacco are not DRUGS that is just wrong ,and not sure about this ,but I would think tobacco kills more than the other two. It is funny how some drugs are accepted and others are not ,prohibition does not work.IMO
