There are left of center Rep's, they come in all flavors I hear. He votes Rep though and he has already become an independent after loosing his last election as a Dem.
Time to take the final step out of the closet and join his Rep brothers don't 'ca think?

He still sits on the Dem side as I recall? I bet it does get lonely...since he doesn't tow the standard party line.

With just a few days to go until the midterm elections, Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut has a 14-point lead over Democratic challenger Ned Lamont. Lieberman started his campaign as a Democrat but switched his affiliation to Independent after he lost the party primary in August. What will happen if he gets re-elected to the Senate?
It looks like nothing will change. Lieberman says his Independent affiliation won't matter at all if he goes back to Washington for the 110th Congress. According to Lieberman, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has promised him that he'd be welcomed back into the party if he got re-elected, and that he'd get to keep all of his seniority and committee assignments. (When the Democratic senators met for a weekly policy luncheon after the primary, Lieberman received an ovation.)
If Reid and the Democrats follow through on that promise, Lieberman would be a member of the party for all intents and purposes. He'd caucus with the party—which means he'd get to attend and vote at party meetings. He'd remain the senior Democrat on the homeland security and governmental affairs committee, and he'd get to hold on to his ranking on other assignments. The most significant difference between Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., and Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., would be the party affiliation printed in the newspapers.
Finally! A miracle happens that actually has me more JAZZED about this election than any other. Sarah Palin was a brilliant choice and made this ticket. SOOOOO nice to go from unenthusiastic to KABAM!
Sorry, Dude.... your Messiah is in DEEP DOGGIE DOO DOO! And even though Palin is a great candidate in her own right, the dems really blew it with those kneejerk, viciously childish attacks. Thanks though! They are working in her favor...
Sorry, just had to let it out one time. Back to my sandbox.

:reaches up to doorbell: Can Wish come out to play?
Palin is the only candidate I know who, as Governor, proposed that enormous gas line,... to be built with NOOOO Federal funding. How many do you know who have ever even attempted something like that.
Indyfella: With global warming........we should have plenty of solar heat...
Something I don't understand about global warming... Since we know that the earth has been cooling for the past eight years, what is warming up? The atmosphere?
Seriously, there must be an argument or a theory that I'm missing. Does anyone know?

Professor Barry Brook is Sir Hubert Wilkins Chair of Climate Change and Director of the Research Institute for Climate Change and Sustainability at the University of Adelaide.
"Claims that global warming stopped in [... insert convenient year] underscore a fundamental lack of understanding about the difference between a trend and variability - or else a deliberate attempt to mislead people with the intent of further delaying action on climate change.
The trend for global warming is consistently upwards, but in any given month, or even season or year, the actual temperature will be variable.
Let me illustrate by example. Based on the NASA GISS global meteorological station data, January 2008 was 'cool', at only +0.31°C above the 1950-1980 average. But March 2008 was back to +0.81°C. By comparison, January 1998 was +0.57°C and March 1998 was +0.70°C. In the northern hemisphere, March 2008 was the 2nd warmest month on record (relative to the average), with a +1.40°C anomaly (for reference, the hottest month on record was January 2007 at +1.61°C).
The point is, there is a lot of month-to-month variability, whatever month you happen to cherry pick. But the trend is consistently upwards - all of the above temperature anomalies are greater than the 1950-1980 average, by +0.3 to +1.6°C.
2008 is expected to be a slightly cooler year than 2007, largely because of a particularly intense La Niña and the current low solar activity.
Indeed, recent work has shown that the average temperature difference between the top and bottom of the 11-year solar cycle is almost 0.2°C (we are currently at the bottom). Looking forwards, recent predictions from the UK Hadley Centre are that at least half of the years between 2009 and 2014 will exceed the highest yearly global temperature to-date."
