Zeelander: I feel much more comfortable with inexperience as a VP than having inexperience as the President.
That's what we keep hearing but it doesn't hold up. He's been around the block a whole lot more than she has just since he's been campaigning.
Not that it really matters, the bus is warming up and as soon as she's under it they'll make her use her family situation as the reason and then everyone on the right will fall into line behind that new talking point.
I feel bad for her already, being associated with people like that.

He just took credit for running his campaign when the comment was made that Palin had more experience than him.

That's another good point, his campaign has a much larger budget than anything she's ever had to deal with. So much for her awesome executive experience, eh.

I think this is why they all have campaign managers.

Yep, it's nothing he's not used to though....Resko channeled big money to him.
ttom500: McCain is a reformer. Everyone in Washington on both side of the aisle knows that. By picking another reformer for VP.....he has someone that can reform Washington, while he does the international stuff. Sure she will take his lead on it.
Think that Biden would do a house cleaning? Not on your life. Old Washington insider there....has to many friends and too many skelton are known by them. Palin is not in that situation. She is an outsider. If you want to change Washington.....McCain has the right idea on doing it, in my opinion.
Tom McCain may have once been a maveric but I don't think he's much of a houskeeper or a cleaner. He is far to entrenched with the lobby's money for that to be true.
Sarah may be a reformer and is a new kid on the block so it's true that as an outsider she won't have so many ties to old Washington. Hey isn't that one of the arguments I made for Obama. All I heard about then from you and others here was his inexperience was a big problem.

Guess not.
If Obama wants all this 'change' for Washington to fix the broken wheels it rides on......why pick Biden for VP? Really if he wants to upgrade to the new Michellin radials with some falshy new rims for the old clunker, he needs a tire technician that can do the job.
This more than a rotation, Sky. More than just plugging a hole with a plug or changing a valve stem.
Biden does not bring much innovative thinking to making the change. His expertise is foreign policy and armed services.....how does that equate to change in Washington? His recommendation for change in Washington is going to be placing some black tires on steel rims. Putting the right amount of air pressure in them. Saying job done.
Remember on the Obama plan...he is the one to be commander and chief and talking to foriegn parties...the VP is going to get these fix it projects on the old clunker. There is only so many hours in a day. Barak's travel schedule if elected, will likely keep him out of the county for about 1/2 of presidency....as he does the shuttle diplomancy thingee-am-gig.
Palin on the other hand?
Well is a innovative gov't service provider in a State that is bigger than Texas. Understands the oil industry. Has dusted off Dem and Rep alike. Has good reputation with her Alaskan constiuentants and has high approval ratings with them.......
There is someone that can change and upgrade you to those new flashy Michellin with some flashy new rims......maybe even give you some of those with the new spin wheels and lights on the inside.
Besides Sky.....just think of it. You would have a girl telling a bunch of guys what to do. Really how much more appealing is that? How can they say no, to her? She bats those eye lashes, flips her hair and gives them a big smile.....they will be doing back flips to get the house cleaning done for her and to give the old clunker a new set of wheels. Maybe even toss in a engine tune up as well for her.
Sommerauer71: You can tell America is waking up, the election threads start being moved to the top.
Good morning USA, interesting news whilst you guys have been schlaft.
We were not schlat, Sommerauer. Just dormat.....(honesly I do not sure exactly what schlat means.....so it could be dormat. But is sounds bad to be schlat ) Much better to be dormat....:-)
Now that the tickets have been picked. We go from being dormat. To being either ultra criticial or ultra supportive of the country, the parties, the tickets and the world. (This again might mean being schlat, I don't know).
In about 60 days we have the election. Then for two years we go back into dormancy. Begin to stir when the primary season hits. And burst into radiant democracy for 60 days.
Just picture the US as a tulip bulb on a 2 year gestation period, with 60 days of flowering.:-)

Actually "SCHLAFT" means "SCHLAFEN" or "SLEEPING".

Judging by these threads you have your fair share of Tulips all right!
I think McCain picked her for laughs. Since they wouldn't let him take Lieberman he though it would be a hoot to watch his party go on tv and try to sell Palin with a straight face.
He's a rascal alright. But is this how he plans to pick his cabinet too? If so I'd like to be in the running for an ambassadorship somewheres nice.

I am sure he can work out a place for a man with your talents and abilities.....please submit a resume'.......I hear there is an opening for a Ambassador in Iraq at present open for the job?
Iraq is off limits. At least until all the super patriots go, the ones who thought invading was such a swell idea. If only ten percent of them had enlisted we woulda been out of there years ago.

I heard that Obama dropped out because of some extra marrital affair.
