Schizophrenia is no depression Deborah12! Schizophrenics need their medicine! Depression is a complete different story. It is a (by the pharmaceutical firms) well hidden fact that a lot of depression medicine can take you over the edge! And did just that to a lot of people. So who's talking rubbish?

she also suffers from depression for the last 4 years and only a few weeks ago diagnosed with scitzophrenia. Anti depressants do help people and if someone has a chemical imbalance it puts it right. Ive got more experience in this that you know believe me anti depressants have saved a lot of people lives

Yea, its an antidepressant and a mild pain reliever. It makes me sleep for hours longer than I should though! All antidepressants make me sleepy, I wish I could find one that was more speedy or something!

some antiderpressants like amitriptiline had got sedative properties but all the other anti depressants i know of dont make you drowsy. amitripiline is best taken at night but the ones that dont make you drowsy you can take in the morning.:bye:

Depending on the severity of your depression and metabolism, Lexapro could be a viable option that won't make you sleep 1/2 of the day.

-Some- of the medications that are used to treat depression can cause death, others can do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to depending on body chemistry types. It's more than possible that what would work well for one could cause mass depression and suicide in another. That can't be ruled out in any form, due to all of the new products that are appearing but it appears to be happening less as a result just the same.
