The blues are what I play mostly anymore too, I used to be pretty heavy into funk, and I liked Dean Markley tube amps for that, but Marshalls suit my current style...

Yep - I've owned just about every tube marshall they made. They are great but to buy one now - nope. Why I could go get a VHT , Soldano, Bogner, or a Dual Recto for the same price. Or for about 1/3 of the price get a Peavey Windsor have it modded.Where the Peavey blows the Marshall away. Next new amp Line 6 Spider Valve head they are the best thing to come out in a long time. Played one at a Guitar Center for hours.

Strats are my guitar for several reasons, not the first of which is their long-scale tuning, but also for their delicate handling. You have to woo sounds out of a stratocaster sometimes, but like a woman, when you do, they are extremely sastifying...grin cool

true, very true...like i said, it depends on what kinda' mood i'm in....i think its the arched frets that tend to mess me up, at times....

I think the arched fret is another reason why I like them so much. Reminds me of fretless strings like I started with (violin, viola, cello). I abandoned those, but the preference stuck I guess...dunno

could be....i did'nt think of that...your probably right...i've just gotta' be in a real mellow mood to play a strat...it does'nt matter what kinda' mood the music is....if that makes any sense?....laugh ....they are cool...but, i just prefere a les paul....i wish i had one

Well I finally found a very good amp and guitar combo:
Crate BV-60 head / Marshall 4x12 and Jackson DK-2. It gives me all the great sounds. And yes this is a classic Marty Friedman (Megadeth) set-up.

Somehow I knew you'd end up with Marshall in your mix somewhere Chris. Glad to hear you've found the sound you like. wine

Thanks, If you want a very good amp try one out. They are a copy of Marty's 50 watt Marshalls ( modded and stock). Spend the money and put El-34's in.
