cristina: When my friend told me to go to NYC where i can be single and rich i told her to go to that TV program where they help people to improve their "taste" in dressing
Am I missing the point? What's insulting with being single and rich? Please do explain
I've never lost any friends just by simply telling the truth. Many people have a difficult time accepting criticism, of course, even if it is the supposed 'truth' ...
Though, I do know that they have felt mad or upset with me, because I was honest ... but the way I see it - it's mostly because of the fact that they probably just didn't want to accept it / deal with it - at that particular time, or ever, for that matter. Not uncommon, really.

Okay thank you.
I wondered if the friend meant she was being superficial or something perhaps, but the main point is hey, they've had a fight and it's hurt her. Not cool
I am single, comfortable & would love to go to NYC so it means a different thing for me!
To each their own
We do not need such negativity in our lives from people we are supposed to trust.

Good one redheart they may not be prepared to hear it no matter how soft you can be. I think if friends are soft in saying the hard truth, they should be forgiven

Do you think there was a nice balance in this exchage of words?
Have you ever lost friends by telling them what you think about them? What can't we say? If it's to improve their behaviour, to whom should we tell the harsh truth?
No, I think you were rude... nothing wrong with being single and rich...
