I've been told I've got a knack for buying gifts, when I'm not sure what to buy,I usually get them a gift certificate and they can choose their own gift.

My brother is in the same situation,they used to be 1200 employees in his company and now they're down to 60,and he's one of the 60 left.
It's tough to see people go sometimes,but it's part of the game,and you have to look after yourself.

desmond: For me I already got my christmas present but I am happy and said my company that I worked for layed off alot of people I worked with last week but I was one of the lucky ones to still have my job.

I have to say the one thing that bothers me at Christmas is that I can't buy anything for others, especially for my kids , new grandbabies, and my best friends, the ones I really wish I could. Sucks being poor. But they all understand, so all I can do is my best to show my love and appreciation for them.

I know that feeling. I once had my whole team laid off. I was the only one left.
And... I was the person that got the lay off list on lay off days because I had to cancel their network and system access at the time they were being laid off. So they had all called me and I had to lie to them and tell them that I didn't know or that they weren't on my list. It was awful.
