I heard the Irish dentists give botox treatments as well to earn a bit xtra.
I think I may have just got myself a freebie there. Went for a single hole in one. Came out with a puffed up face with all the features gone, top lipflap all big like angelina jolie but with red grazes on it and the inside is grazed and red as well exept for the front where the little skin is right above the front teeth. That part is totally white not pinky but white. My left eye is red and the eyelid is swollen so I have trouble closing it.
Is this normal?

I mean all I came for was a filling in the top left tooth.
did not actually come for botox treatment and no needle was used on the face only inside the mouth.

Keep an eye on it, no pun meant at all...you could be having an allergic reaction to what was used for anesthetic. Not anaphalactic shock, but still sounds like a bad reaction.

Dazzle would be able to tell you more.

how long ago did you see this dentist?

Swelling for a filling should be absolutely minimal and the fact that you have white gums indicates damaged tissue. You need to see your doctor IMMEDIATELY!

This is urgent. do not wait. I can't stress this enough. See a physician immediately.

There are several issues you may be encountering including nerve damage, but the biggest thing I suspect is that he did not properly sterilize his instruments with an autoclave or other device which means you could have a staff or other infection.

I am an ER physician, not a laymen telling you to see your physician immediately. If you do not have one, or cannot afford one, go to an emergency room immediately.

Trust me you would know if you had botox ,your face for starters wouldnt droop .Sounds like you have lack of back teeth ?? this is normally the only way the cheeks cave in other than that the swollen eye is a trip to the docs .Phone your dentist in the morn and explain whats wrong ,he should rebook you back in and give you a check up ,also if your surgery does this ( mine does but not a lot do ) ask for some of their own mouthwash ,its fantastic for germs and will heal most infections in the mouth .

Good luck bouquet

Again, I am not a dentist, but you should not have that kind of swelling with a filling.

Please follow DazzleYou's advice. He really is an ER doctor here in the USA, and knows his stuff. Without being able to see you in person, he gave the best advice.

thumbs up
