Typhoon is the Pcific equivalent of the Hurricane.A Tornado can occur in those Storms,but happens particularly on the N.American Plains,with Windspeeds in excess of a hurricane.

The worst I remember was in December 1988 when most of Malta was flooding and a women drowned in Valley Road, B'kara... but just last night I was watching TV and on this programme 'Grajjietna' it was mentioned that early on in the 20th century there was a very bad wind in Malta... it was sometime in November as well... it damaged I don't know how many aeroplanes, killed two people... unrooted trees... anyways... if someone finds information about it and would like to share... cause I was half asleep last night :-)
