Couldn't think of a better title for this so here goes. I've seen some people put a requirement that the person must have their own TEETH. Now come on, wth kind of silly stuff is this? Forgive me, but I don't have my own. Most of them got knocked out of my head by my ex. That makes me a bad person? What about those who got in a car accident? Stuff happens. The ones he didn't knock out were so busted up I ended up having to have them removed too, they were making me very sick.

Ok so now you know one of my most embarrassing things, but I brought it up because I feel it's important. I am embarrassed about it because of societies judgment of people who don't have their own. Does this make a person shallow, wishing that their "ideal mate" has their own teeth? Before they got knocked out of my head I felt the same way! I also wondered why women stayed with abusive men. I guess maybe this should go under the "Godslap" thread but I felt that it needed it's own thread because it's important to some, me being one of them. I'm sure there's a few others who don't have all their own as well.

Ok I'm done embarrassing myself for now. Thanks for listening.

I feel the same way Snow', lost my 2 front teeth in my teens and that became my Achillies heel. I still don't smile easily from habit, even though dentistry solved the problem years ago. Paws

Nothing against "Hillbillies", I grew up in a large city, now I live in a small town but we've always been in the city until 8... almost 9 years ago when I bought this house and I have a college education. I think that rules that out that lable, altho I've been called one and frankly, I pity those who feel they have to act so stupid.

No you didn't call me one, just made a point so don't missunderstand my reply! hug

From one toothless woman to another. I too had a few teeth knocked out by a man.
Does that make us any less a woman? I THINK NOT!!
Makes them anything but a man. So just wanted to let you know your not alone.
and on a knida naughty note I hear real men LIKE a toothless woman.

I get a kick out of those who paint their faces daily like some work of art, different shades and applicators, layers, shadows, bold, light, much like the great artist of old... which makes me wonder why there are not more famous female artists, lord knows they know how to blend and the use of color. I wonder why they make that such a deal breaker??? I cannoot remember all that i've met and still I am as confused as i was 35 year ago when it comes to women so much alike yet so different from each other.

then again I got a bad test score today so I am not the smartest puppy in litter right now.

i wonder if they mostly refer to...not letting them rot. the idea that...if you don't care for your teeth, you aren't taking care of yourSELF...and therefore are a fixer-upper.

of course, lots of people are shallow. most won't come out and tell you, giving that red flag. maybe...you should be glad they do.

Nah I've not seen you be nasty or shallow on the forums. Your always nice from what I have seen. Was I shallow when I felt that way before? Perhaps. I DO understand the flip side, could be peresonal hygene or lack of that caused the teeth problem so yeah, that makes sense... and your not shallow for wanting someone who know's how to brush their damn teeth! LOL So I can see that side of it, but I am kind of hopeing to also have the ones who don't look at the other side, open their eyes a bit perhaps...

Make sense? grin *tries to take out the teeth on him LOL*

Oh it doesn't stop me, I just figure if they don't want to look at me, then don't. Their choice. I am me and that's that. LOL

I didn't put this up to argue, judge or anything. Not pointing fingers. Just found it interesting. I honestly, if I were a guy, not thought about your not including "their OWN" teeth. I've looked at profiles of men that may have said that and I missinterperted them frustrated Must look closely at wording!

And usually it's me laughing that makes them look in the first place LOL But anymore I just don't even want to go anywhere.

You know, with the high cost of dental care these days, there are many who would like to "fix their smile" and truly cannot afford it. There are generally programs in any town who will help with the cost.
