This morning I have been chasing a brown mouse all over the living room, now it has gone into the kitchen where I lost sight of where it went. Do you know where it could be hiding?

The basement door is off the kitchen, do you think it could have gone down to the basement?

What is the best way to get it to come out so I can get it out of the house without hurting it?

Actually it look so cute and more scared then my daughter did. Her friend will not come near the house as long as the mouse is here, so we have to tell her it is gone.laugh

I do not want to hurt it, just set it free outside so it can find another home, in someone else's house.laugh

Okay expanding on the trail idea. You save wrapping paper rolls put them together spray some essence of cheese or peanut butter in there. You will need quite a few rolls.
Or you could get a miniature train and tracks putting the cheese in the box car shut making it shut when he enters for the cheese then take it over to your neighbors or better yet a field and let it loose. Remember to leave a year's supply of cheese and peanut butter for it to survive in the wild.

Sorry to tell you there is no such thing as a mouse relocation program. if you do get it out of the house, I bet it's right back in before you get in the door. You have choices - mouse trap that kills (bait it with peanut butter), mouse trap that captures (and then drive it miles and miles away and hope it doesn't beat you back), or choose to live with it and find mouse droppings all over along with whatever diseases it might have. My choice is kill it and go on because the alternative is not a guaranteed safe one. good luck. By the way, when you see one mouse, you can pretty much be sure there's many more than one.
