if your date (first date) drove up your driveway on a motorcycle, and he offered you a helmet to wear. Would you take it or tell him that you want the wind in your hair?
Helmet, no doubt in my mind - I've almost died on a 4-wheeler and the helmet is all that saved my skull from being crushed by the weight of it. That's nothin' to play around with, and those who ride without are asking for an injury.
id wear it, and hope that it was halfway cool so i didnt look like a nerd. besides safety reasons, i have long hair and the wind on a motorcyle makes it whip around and leaves welts and also causes nasty snarls. ouch
First of all riding a motorcycle is out of bounds for me at any time...personally if i'm going to straddle anything to ride..its not going to be a bike!!
However, there is enough pressure on a "first date" without now having to wonder about "helmet head" or "wind blown hair"..besides how does he know what i was going to wear...what if its a dress with heels...you want i should climb on a bike with that?
Well, that depends. If we were going on a ride on his bike, yes. If he turned the engine off and parked and we went inside for some tea, then no. It'd look funny wearing a helmet in the livingroom.
Well hopefully he would at least discuss this before meeting so that you could dress appropriately. Damn right I'd take the helmut and I wouldn't be worrying about my hair. I'd be LETS GO!!!

In Holland you get a fine if you drive without a helmet. Funny thing the helmet, especially for skydivers, do they really think the helmet saves them if the chute doesn't open?
I've always worn a fullface helmet when I had my motorcycle and there's no helmet law in NH. I get another bike, I'll wear the helmet again.
The lifejacket is if you're going down over water and the reason why you are told to put your head down between your legs is because you stand a better chance of surviving a crash in that position. Because there are no shoulder straps, you wouldn't be forced forward against the seatbelt causing a serious injury as the plane decelerates quickly. Think of the crash test dummy commercials and you will understand
