I just learned an important lesson. Never buy a grill too heavy for you to lift off of the ground by yourself.
Last night we had wind gusts strong enough that they blew my patio furniture and my grill off of the back patio. No tank in it, I'm going to be hooking it to the gas line. Brand new grill...not hooked up yet, never been used...second trip into the yard. This time I'm tying up. After my sons get here Sunday and help me get it out of the yard and back onto the patio.
sassy49senior: Hi Dana, I just tap them a little all the way around the cap with the handle of a butter knife. Usually open right up. Just don't tap too hard.
another good one for that is to run it under hot water for a few seconds and my favourite when all else fails is to put it in the door hinges (if its a small lid that is).....

Or run the bottle cap under warm water for a minnute very warm water..and presto!..comes right off no sweat.

That's how I always open lids , I have a lot weakness in my hands due to my neck problem, so a few taps on the lid edge and it opens right up.
sassy49senior: Dru, you sound stubborn like someone else I know, my
daughter. She will give her all to get something done
before asking for help. Glad you got it done. Now you
should just set and relax.
I definitely don't give up easily. I just won't take it to the point of injuring myself...discovered the hard way it's not worth being that dang stubborn. I'd have tried again if the second time didn't work.

I have a rubber thing for this...grips it and makes it easier. Works every time.

Thank God for sons.
