btw...I don't paint, draw or any of the above....never inherited my mother's talent 
I paint cars , houses , airbrushing on cars , also do drawings.
Ralf74: I know, it is stupid but I was young and impressionable and after 2 yrs of her insulting critique, it sucked the sheer joy out of it for me. I could have even understood if she gave constructive critisism but it was like she hated me, all she did was attack anything i did. I never had such a poor rapore with a teacher.
Ralf...I so agree with KityKat....dont be put off by a negative experience, however significant.
See if you have the same talent now....you may be surprised!

I used to paint wraships when I was younger. They made us do it even in the rain, they wanted the ships to look nice. In later years I have played around with the other sort, mainly oils, landscapes, some surreal and some abstract.

kawai: I love to paint, love any kind of creativity, but aren't particularly good at it. I have a massive creative streak, but am lacking the talent to go with it. lol.

Nah, seriously. I want to express myself creatively, just don't have the confidence to do it. I was an excellent student in school. The only subject I ever failed was an art elective in year 9. lol
