Was very nearly roadkill this morning, thanks to some bimbo in an SUV, who was so busy looking to her right coming on to a roundabout that she forgot to check whether there was anyone actually ON the damn roundabout!!!very mad

Only my quick thinking and dexterity saved me grin

All offers of sympathy gratefully received, and all other rants of the day welcome.

Cyclists are by and large a great danger to most road users, and especially themselves. I appreciate that it is dangerous on the road for them, but the way a lot of them carry on, it's a deathwish at times!

Bimbos + SUVs = Disaster. Did no one ever tell you they have that SUVs have the right of way Munch? And the drivers also have superior reflexes and brakes to enable them to drive right up behind you and try to intimidate you when you're in your car? I pass through Blessington a couple of times a week, and at school times it's like the royal family's reunion with all the bloody SUVs and PPL carriers trying to negotiate the traffic and let their one little darling out, then return all of the 500m home!!!! AAAAGH!!!! You get sympathy from me Munch, I think we should start a campaign for the Govt. to make it compulsory to be a farmer in order to own one. Was going to say all owners should be screened for intelligencee before purchasing one, but then sales would die off completely!!! Bet Losty has an SUV, go on admit it L!!!! banana banana banana Bet it's one of them wussy Kia's or Hyundais too!!! Lol!!!

Munchin.. have you noticed that suv and 4 x 4 drivers cant actually drive their vehicles?
Its a snobbery / status symbol thing to be seen driving these monstrosities. The people who drive them live in neat little surburbs and have no need for them practically.
They should be made carry out a seperate driving test if they insist on continueing using these buckets scold frustrated doh barf

See what you started now Munch??? I cycle alot, got knocked off twice when I lived in Dublin, once the car driver got out, gave out to me for damaging his SUV, and then drove off! I was too young and shocked at the time to get his number and report him-but I was unhurt. Anyway, my point is that even though it's really environmentally friendly and cheap mode of transport, the risks are huge, so you be careful out there Munchie!!! Also be smug when you cycle past that long string of SUVs, PPl carriers and other vehicles as you get exercise and fresh air on your way to work where you don't even have to pay for parking-and it's practically free!!! banana banana banana

sorry munchkin, but im afraid as a driver of cars and 8 seater mini buses, the last thing we think of is people on bycles and motor bikes, children and adults walking yes we are allways watching out for them, but cyclist are scary they always seem to pop out of no where evan if we do look left and right, and left and right again yer just to fast on the approach munchkins,i consider people on bikes in the same catagory as spiders they give me the heebe geebees and they scare me you never know when they are going to op up.

Don't know if ye were listening to Ray Darcy the other day talking to a scientist who did an experiment on motorist's behaviour towards cyclists when passing them....seems they'll give you more room if you're a woman, less if you're a man not wearing a helmet (on your head!!!), and even less again if you are wearing a helmet! So Ray said all cyclists should wear long blonde wigs unless they already have the long blonde hair! Sorted!!!
