To not open our minds, try new things, then what is the point of being here in the first place?

Ignorance, is certainly not bliss...

The film was a little naff alright but not bad, wexlady I agree...

Do you like marian keyes? she's a brilliant writer.

I read Deirdre Purcell's book "Falling for a Dancer" there last week. Great old yarn! I recommend! I even shed a tear! Addictive.

I am not having a discussion like the above where you pick out what I say and insert some narrow minded closed view point.

Enjoy the bliss.

Actually fine, you fire dumb "questions" at me so:

Who invented man then?
We do not have souls so we are all like robots?
The sixth sense is our sense of intuiton...our sense that is heightened and is not just based on our conscious everyday mind...the subconscious mind...look that up maybe.
Why could the supernatural not exist then? Are u an authority on this?

If people were not open minded, then how would anything get invented. Imagine telling Alexander Graham Bell that there is no way he's ever going to invent something called a telephone. He believed it was possible, and now it exists.

Crotalus,

You are not picking me up correctly.

I am refering to your ignorance which is being very dismissive about issues of mortality, religion, belief and intuiton.

Your ignorance, which has cause you to call ME ignorant?

How ironic.

missdundalk: Actually fine, you fire dumb "questions" at me so:

No one , There is this little thing called evolution "...look that up maybe."

missdundalk:
We do not have souls so we are all like robots?

Of course we are not like robots , but what you must understand is that the soul/sprit/what ever you want to call it was made up by the same people that made up religions

missdundalk:

Your definition of the sixth sense would appear to differ from most , most would consider the sixth sense to be something supernatural , our sense of intuition is simply instinct , or nature ,by the way there is no subconscious, there is only the conscious and the unconscious mind

missdundalk:
Why could the supernatural not exist then?

It does not exist because there is no evidence to prove that it does exist

And there is none to prove that the Supernatural doesn't!

I know what evolution is.

Why not broaden your mind and look at Freud, maybe think a little outside the box.

It's a narrow frame to be working on.

The term subconscious is defined as existing or operating in the mind beneath or beyond conscious awareness. The word was coined by the psychologist Pierre Janet, who credited it with a hidden level of awareness and automatism. In the strict psychological sense, the adjective is defined as "operating or existing outside of consciousness"

There you go.

You speak about evolution Crotalus. Well I looked it up and it's claimed that we evolved from our ape like ancestors. But what I can't understand is, how did the ape's get here in the first place ? confused

I was going to suggest that to him but did not even bother going that route.

I would hate to be close-minded about the many intricacies of the universe.

Maybe Aomebas, or pond scum......roll eyes

How can anyone definitivly say they are correct in their assumptions. It's all speculative and boils down what you "want" to believe.

I believe it's late enough in the day to have a beer.cheers

Ok, but how did Aomebas & pond scum get here ? You see what I mean, you could keep going back with this theory.

my dear do not tell me that you are seriously trying to argue that you are right because Ican not prove a negative rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof. - Christopher Hitchens

missdundalk:

My dear I do have a broad mind , and I do think outside the box , you your self may want to look into the relevance of Freud , last I heard he was only thought as part of the history of psychoanalyses/psychology well by the reputable third level intuitions anyway

missdundalk: It's a narrow frame to be working on.

To surrender to something and call it supernatural is narrow-minded
