walhew13cork, Cork Ireland22 Threads 160 Postshi just wanted to ask you ladies what you feel about long distance dating can it work im speaking from experience when i was younger i use to date a girl from dublin for two years which was great but it eventually petered out,but for the last couple of years i have dated women from different parts of the country and to be honest they have only lasted a month r two if that at first its great going away for the weekend meeting up with your girlfriend but after awhile the traviling u get sick of and also just been able to meet her on the weekends its more like having a fling with someone than actually having a girl friend i think i might stay in cork and try to settle down .
i quite like doing my own thing at the week as im busy with work anyway and doing my own thing...then having the weekend for him...i appreciate the time more and look forward to seeing him on fri or sat

only pitfall is before actually meeting sometimes you get caught up in the rommance of it all before actually meeting i keep warning myself this but i fall in to same trap all the time lol

if you want it to it will work...and long distance doesnt apply to ireland the county is tiny for gods sake

The only experience I have is dating a guy from Limerick for 6 months - I used to love flying down to see him..... but had to dump him cos that was probably the best bit
I don't think someone too far away would work for me - I need to kept on a short lead
but would consider anywhere in Ireland or England as possibility..... After all I would hate someone living in my face too much

But we take each day as it comes and the phone bill is on the high side But we see each other at least one weekend a month and believe me .....that weekend is worth its weight in Gold

I am dating 7 and he lives in Dublin and I live in West Cork!
It's tough at times, but I don't mind the commute.
Especially as I am off work every second week.
7 travells to see me also.
Long term.................Have no idea what will happen!

depends on your circumstances- from wexford to kildare is 1 1/2 to 2 hours - (don't ask me how I know
