And Love

LOVE COMES IN WAVES.............
AND RESTS ITSELF ON THE SHORES OF MY HEART.
IT WENDS IT'S WAY AROUND THOSE STRINGS
THAT CAN BE SO EASILY PULLED
IT TOYS WITH MY EMOTIONS
AND HARBOURS FEELINGS AND DESIRES
THAT LODGE DEEP IN MY SOUL
AND BRINGS POETRY TO MY LIPS lips

AND LOVE

EBBS LIKE THE TIDE.........
WASHING AWAY THE FOOTPRINTS OF LOST LOVE
AND AGAIN IT FLOODS THE HEARTS CHAMBERS
RELEASING MEMORIES INTO OUR MINDS EYE
BRINGING RAPTOUROUS THOUGHTS...............

( WORKIN ON THE REST)

try mulling over an idea..of what you want to write for a day...then the next day..it will come...when you just get a piece of paper and start to write...see what happenswave

i can't do it on demand, first time i've written any for at least a decade and i had something to write about this week. its always something that's happened to me or i get very angry about. but, if you're the sort of person who can be inspired in a more abstract way, i reckon you could do worse than sit in the botanical gardens for an hour or so, in the glass house. plenty of shape and colour and an unusual atmosphere.

Black

Black is the shade my day be cast,
Black as my heart, she thinks it so,
But climb a granite hill of hope,
Each night to slip back, dark and low.

Now your digging..good! I like it..I find writing helps get all the crap out..like venting..it's good to do..wrote this a year ago

Anymore
I've been here before in this heartach
One day I won't think of you...anymore
One day my heart will get off the floor
It scares me to think, I'll not love you anymore
all the plans we had, scraped and are no more
All by myself again
Alone I must explore
make new ones, new futures, new times...all without you inside the door

One day it won't matter

and my heartach will go away
and you wont exist....anymore

8 (rewrite)

The waves roll in
the choppy waters of the shannon
the tall reeds are bending
and the grey clouds are threatening
the rain may fall......
the wind is blowing; I still like it sound
I am at peace
I am praising my father in the sky
and my mother upon whom I sit
I have found my ground
I am settling down
I feel myself, I feel my heart
I found myself here, only as a part
Of the world that surrounds
I am but one, but, it is me I have found
Nothing really different
Nothing has changed, but inside, I am not the same
the war has stopped

I am with myself, all of me, all around
I am greatfull to you, you brought to me...myself
for real this time
for me this time
for peace this time
this..my very first time
I can finally feel...I am finally real

Although I enjoy reading other peoples poetry Im afraid it doesnt come easy to me to write it......for me to get rid of my negative and bad emotions I listen to music almost constantly and this always lifts my mood.....I notice that the poets from this thread never post in the music thread....maybe this is why?? One or the other? dunno

Composed this one over lunch....

With my eyes I have see so much, too much, yet too little.
Red, orange and blue - I see beauty and yet I see spittle.

With these ears I heave heard the sound of laughter and of pain.
The wild passion of the lovers, and the sound of falling rain.

I keep my "romantic" side well under control these days, Dave, but yes it does slip out every now and then when I am not watching.

Am listening to the songs that were picked for the CD - there are some big hearts out there. Be fearless, be shameless. Write a poem from the heart and post it here. Sure what have you to lose.

Burnt out Ivory

Looking at the waves coming in
whish wash,splish splash,
the man upon the water,
he walks on ivory from hot plains,
ruled by wind, crackle,Jackle.
And tierney calling them, calling me.
Time to take off upon te sea

You should know me by now, Dave - I'm fearless.

The request is still there.

A funny poem, but written from the heart. Go on, please.
