vonney: What have you done to my heart?
What have you done to my heart?
It used to be open, like a rose in full bloom
It used to sing at the sound of your voice
And dance when you entered the room

You hid the monster so well
The one that deep inside you did dwell
The one that I tried to ignore
But he came out each time we closed the front door

And he would stamp on my heart
Pulling the petals further apart
Till nothing was left in my breast
Just the cold hand of fear clutched at my chest

What have you done to my heart?
It used to be so full of light
Now what’s left is wrapped up in chains
And if someone gets close it takes flight

hug you write nicely Yvonne- maybe you'll get some new inspiration in sorrentoyay

Our local Street Lamp

Across the lake the street lamp glows.
The only one for miles - the way home it still shows.

There once was a shop there, it was run by Mary and John.

But time - it moved on. Yes and without a care.
The shop and the couple ? - they are no longer there.

Yet tonight, as in every night, the street lamp will still glow.

Slow and mundane you pretended to be sane.
We grew and you flew.........away

Skin toned nail polish now deepest vampire brown
Taupe suits now daisy dukes
Natural lips now gaudy red

Once traditional...now completely transitional

Guess I have to assume this is the new you.
Guess I have to change my view.

All you said as I grew....
All the things you ch-a-n-g-e-d make me confused.

You were my solid ground in which I grew
Now I’m learning ............I can change too.......... or should

How else will our love survive if I don’t accept this new you, you chose to hide?

Did you think you had to be good?
Did you think you wouldn’t be understood?

I do, hear me, I do and I, I like colour too.

He Runs
He likes to take my things and run
Screaming with delight
Hears me coming behind him determined
He’s running this way and that
Weaving in and out of doorways
Little feet with such agility
Climbing over furniture, jumping over shoes and toys
Scaling a pile of laundry and digging inside
Hoping not to be found
Quietly he waits...like a little fawn
Eyes are closed tight, holding on to his mommy prize
Around the corner I run ranting and raving, over exaggerate my nonexistent annoyance
Over my stolen gloss

In the living room I stalk my prey
I see nothing...and suddenly realize a new level in his game
He is getting smarter by the day
Looking around...he has to be here..Somewhere
And then I hear..A little giggle
My head jerks in its direction..My eyes darting back and forth, my ears perked
I then realize he’s hidden in the clothes
I pounce and dig...him out..Kissing and tickling as I take my mommy prize...
I lay him out...and give him tummy berries, and he scrunches with laughter...
I am tired out...after ....
Only to have my gloss taken off me again!

vonney: My arms are empty
They ache for you
You stood no chance
You came to soon
In such a rush
To join this world
You would not stay
Inside my womb
Where I could keep
safe and warmI hope your in a better place
With Gods love shining from your face
A piece of me died that day with you
A piece that is forever lost

As the years pass
I see your smile
In your sisters face
Shes my special child

A gift from God
When you had gone
To help me heal
To help me smile

My arms are empty
They ache for you
My precious boy
I will always love you

Oh Vonny...this is beautiful..and so honest...Thank you so much for sharing that...I know it touched many people...it touches me.hug

I often sit and wonder,

of what might have been.

And when i look back at the past,

i thank god for all i seen.

In the experience of it all,

i had lost my inner self,

i did,nt know who i was,

as not much of "me" was left.

Through courage,strength,and belief,

i took a deep sigh,

and took a decision to find myself,

the "lost inner child".

Im proud to have found myself,

the person,i should have been,

and through the healing process of it all,

i,m so proud to be "MEEEEEE".

God
July 2008

The oceans are for me
My father loved me enough to know
It’s their beauty I need to see
Holy Spirit is showing me peace
By the sound of the water, rolling up, then down
Smelling salt and sea weed debris
My God’s love, is setting me free
The ocean
The ocean
That God has made for me

The Up and Downs of Parenting

The Moon is full, it will be there all night,
I see it through the window, climbing, up, up, up.

And then I see myself, reflected in the same window,
As into the bed for the night I am falling, down, down, down.

A friend just sent me this - it has suprised me 'cos he is the biggest hardenst biker I know

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
This person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
Things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
Love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant

Thank you for being a part of my life,
Whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

Another one from my depressed days!!!!

Suicide Love

I sit alone
and wonder why,
Its come to this
I want to die.

My heart it pumps
Hot blood through veins,
My love has gone
My feelings slain.

A flash of steel
On pale cold skin,
My pulse throb
the bleed begin.

I close my eyes
And think of love,
soon i'll join
Yon angels above.

Eyes are blank
Where life once shone,
For I am dead
My heartache gone.

Sorry to depress everyone, but its one of my favourites sigh

White birch tree,
White birth of me...from within
And so....
Leaves fall quietly, separating her from the earth
She at first looks alone, but only because she sticks herself out
Her skin in shining brightly in the sunlight of the morning sun
She blocks out what was behind her,
Shadows she throws away as she bravely grows...
Day by....every day
Her trunk more beautiful with time and age The branches of her hair..more fair
Nothing can stops her now,
She is on her way.....
Stretching, reaching for the sky
And
She is almost there.

The light through the clouds comes through and sits on me
Hope is beaming
The birds..they are singing
And the grass..well, it’s gleaming
Every single thing is smiling at me....
Smiling, for me
I see me
I see me
I see me
And I cry out to our God, who has given me beauty within .....me
So that I can now see, the beauty outside of me
