I only get caught up in housekeeping by want of shame
I did all the right stuff when I was having to be a responsible parent - kept the place tidy and hoovered, aportioned tasks etc - all the stuff that responsible parent needs to show a child
but my personal inclination is anything but - im a slovenly so and so, I delight in my own company and have little regard for anything which falls outside of my remit and can also be stubborn to this end
hrt4lse: My cats like to lay on the back of the couch...I had a guy over and he put his jacket on the back of the couch...well, my siamese jumped up there & started investigating it & he yelled at the cat. I got up & picked up his jacket...he said it was fine where it was....I put it on the back of a chair in the dining room.
I can, however, understand him yelling at the cat for getting on his jacket...though it would have been avoided if he'd just asked where he should put it, or if you had offered to take it for him. I use the backs of dining room chairs as well, sometimes, if the guest isn't staying long, btw.

I'll keep that in mind if I make it over to visit...and yes, I'm okay with that, too, btw. I want you to be you if that gets to happen! And thank you for being brave enough to be the first to admit this...though DK was close.

I know...and that's mutual, btw. Ah, you know I love ya, Trish, my friend. One of the things I love about you is your tendency to be a bit controversial.
i also would like a clean house, to spend hours on end and the kids can mess it up in 5 minutes whats the point, and try living with a neat freak after awhile really gets on ur nerves especially when u do do ur part but are told u do nothing.

i have that problem with my dad even though he never visits but has the gall to gripe about my animals being on the furniture.. hey dad u never visit and i don't live at ur house so get off my back..
jlw45: i would'nt, exactly, call it nothing....if you do do your part .............. sorry, could'nt resest
excuse me taking care of the kids , doing laundry , cooking and among other things is actually doing more than my part, if he does a liittle laundry or one load of dishes to hear him tell it he does it all the time hisself..

That's why I don't bother cleaning up daily after the dogs. They can mess it up just as fast as I clean it!
And yes...my mom used to do that to us. Very annoying.

I've been there, too, wildkitty...but honestly, J was only joking, hun. I do understand how upsetting that situation is, though.
