Ras glad that your back to work and sometimes when being off we have to start all over again. I work as a unit secretary on the cardiac floor.

I don't see anyone's job more important than the other. It takes all the people and departments working together to provide for the patients.

OK, Went to my orientation yesterday..

5 hours of Booooooringfrustrated laugh

Found out that my start day was off, not till the 27th.. Tuesday because of 4 days training.

Since I quit smoking a while back this will be great.. working around other non smokersapplause
Won't be as tempting for me to pick up again.

Just brought this back up so no one would think I lied about the dates..hug

rasgumby: What kind of jobs do you guys have?

Myself (sounds lame) but Housekeeping on this job to start.
Mostly floor care, carpets and tile floors.

great pay at such a big hospital, good Benefits.
Have been supervisor on my past 4 jobs, so will be again but just have to start at the bottom.

I'm not too proud to start over!!
I have worked at hospitals doing cleaning and making beds. I loved the work. And it had advancements in the place. And benefits. Especially if I was ever injured while at work ,just go down to the ERlaugh

Thanks, I have worked at this hospital for 3 years previously.
Yes.. good chances for advancing, and since I have a lot of management exp. I will get back up there in time.

I have also worked in Nursing homes for the last 7 years as Maintenance and as Environmental services supervisor.

Congrats Ras...My job is just a job for now until I decide what direction my career will take next...Could be law school...I haven't decided yet...cause I am torn between continuing to do what I love...which is law...and having a job where I can leave work at work and I have a life outside of work....Sooooooo we'll see....wave wink doh cheering

Sometimes change is needed anyhow... same old same old can get so boring. Best of luck in whatever you decide.

I didn't have a choice in the career change for now.
as most here know, I fell off of my roof 19 months ago, broke my heel and had to get a plate put in.
Had to leave it in for a year then had it removed (because it was put in too low to walk right) just now getting back to work.applause cheering applause cheering

Can't wait!!!

Hope this next summer to be well enough to get back up on the house and finish roofing!!

After being laid up for so long after an accident, I finally start a new job at the Hospital on the 26th

So anyway, This made me think of a question.
I love my field of work, have Enjoyed about any job.

So, do you like you job, love you job or have a job that really sucks??

pretty easy work, get to see a lot of different things working on multiple floors and areas.

Update,

Well, one month has passed, fun work, meeting a lot of people, best part- advancement already.
was 28 hrs per week, 4 seven hour days per week and every other weekend.
on the 9th I go to fulltime afternoons, 5:00-1:30 at $1.50 per hour more and no weekends or holidays banana cheering applause

and thank goodness.. no more getting up at 4:00-5:00 amgrin

So I guess my shift here will be changing alsolaugh
