This question is for anyone who has experience with Chinese authorities on what to do to to deter the possibility that 'they' may prevent a Canadian from obtaining a visa to visit one of their country women, or to have her come here (a rejection apparently happens 95% of the time). I've been talking to a wonderful woman for long enough for each of us to know that we definitely do want to meet and prevent the possibility of our ignorance in what to do, especially in how we need to cross all the beaurocratic 't's' and dot the 'i's,' and lessen the likelihood of this non-meeting happening, which seems quite possible. I appreciate any inputs and ideas...cheers; Mark
Is there a Chinese embassy in Canada that you could contact and ask questions about visas? I think it depends on the travel agreements between the 2 countries - you should be able to get some helpful information from a travel agency regarding a tourist visa - however they have time limits usually - check with their Dept of State online too -- just some thoughts! Good luck to you and your lady!

Thank-you Charlie5695: What really sweet suggestions...you've helped me feel that there are possible options. Cheers; Mark
China has relaxed their policies more to tourists now, especially pertaining to the Olympics. Mine took alittle longer for approval because I also trekked to Outer Mongolia, but I had no trouble nor problems.

I've been several times in China , never got a problem with my visa what you could do is arrange a meeting in a country that is easy to reach for the both of you , like Thailand
(1) she must have $1000 in her bank account for every month she is staying in your country, to prove sge can look after herself..
(2) you must have more money in bank to prove you can take care of her..
(3) she also has to prove that she is in fact going to return to her country, and that's its not a easy way out.. like family, job, to return too...
(4) you have to apply for visa for visiting first. not fiance visa, as you both have to have met each other in the first place, photo's to prove it.
(5) you have to pay for visa application for her, she can only apply for visa from her country, you cannot apply on her behalf..
(6) or you could fly over there, and marry her, she must have a cert to prove she is single, and you also, this has to be prearranged before you apply to marry,
(7) this will also take bout 2 years before she is allowed to come to you...
anything else you want to know let me... i know!!!
