There's a tiny gnome living in every fridge that turns the lights on every time the door opens and off when door closes. You kept the poor guy up all night waiting for the door to close

That's an easy one to solve. Get a small child of speaking age, and put him/her into the fridge and ask is the light on or off.
When the door closes there's a button it presses that shuts the light off and when opened the button is released and the light goes on

Why bother going to such extremes ....too cold for bacteria to grow....waste of water doing that.....and gnomes like to keep dry

But there is a 7/11 close to me thats open until midnight..How about somebody build a refrigerator with a glass front door so that inquiring minds will know if the light stays on.
I'm pretty sure the light goes out when you close the door
