I think Ellimere has made a good point. GENUINE friends are very hard to get. You should maybe try to join a 1 or 2 social groups to try to get to know a few more people.

Family is always good to have.

You can make friends in lots of ways.

If you can't meet any through work, join some voluntary organisations, join a Men's Shed, do nightclasses, join your local GAA or soccer club.

Basically, go where there are other people. That is how you will make friends.

You have more friends than me on facebook.

I'm not on it . Say a prayer to st Anthony every night, and visit his little groto .

I'm not religious but I swear he always helps me out...before you know it you will find a connection to make friends,

You know I'd rather have one good friend than lots of superficial friends, best friend is ourself and if one can be content too on ones own that makes for a strong character ,some people who are introverted can be content in their own company and actually more confident than what we see as the extroverted types who are always out and about surrounded by people .

It is good to communicate with people even if its just a trip to the shop each day and converse with someone.

Then you better do something about it. dunno

Most people who are sociable do like someone sociable as well - and the rest will be hard to meet. laugh

TBH, I would find it strange if someone doesn't have friends. I moved here from abroad and did built up a circle of friends and acquaintances, getting out and about with people and meeting new people is the best way to find a partner as well. conversing

I joined the drama group I help out sometimes and now and then we meet up and go out for dinner,or if thete is a good band on in town we go there,

You could join a voluntary organisation, maybe meals on wheels or whatever is n your location you will be helping and it give you more confidence to go out and be more sociable.

Take small steps,,there are lots people like you with no family and because of that they make it their business to get involved with people ,

What about your local sports centre, would you be interested in swimming or the gym,?

I love swimming I'd swim all day if I could.

Lots luck.
