a very sad situation - pity they couldn't keep him alive and get him the mental health care he desperately needed .. but the affair sold a few papers and filled some airtime .. so served a purpose of sorts .. excited some folks too I've no doubt .. maybe the confusion between TV drama and reality is just too overwhelming sometimes ..
I agree rytche, a very sad affair, but for different reasons in my mind. Innocent people again were murdered going about their daily lives. Loved ones taken away from more families forever, and YET again the coward didn't have the guts to face his actions!! Drives me nuts how they always top themselves after the damage is done. I know something's gone wrong mentally but justice never seems to be served. In all fairness, even if the git was caught, he'd only be put in a cushy hospital and fed and watered for years and years. A very sad fact of life.

I have to agree with you in many respect but, how do you think it happens that somebody could go to that level in the first place. The thing was it was never going to end in a good way. This has always puzzeled me how could any normal person become so crazy to kill others?????????????

what's really puzzling why it doesn't happen more often -- we are animals, after all .. lions wouldn't have any qualms sorting out another of its species that pssd it off ..

I agree with you about Lions, but we as humans are supposed to be educated and intelligent enough to know where to draw the line when settling the score. There's a huge difference between giving an idiot a right hook compared to blasting him with a shotgun, then his family, his neighbours and anybody else walking along the street!
I just find it all so sickening that you have to be careful just walking along the street to the corner shop these days rytche! What's happening to society? Jo, I wish I could tell you why these things happen but I can't hun. Stress, depression, anger, pressure who knows.

Walking up to a cop that was doing his job to protect the public and takes his sight away for ever. What is going on if he has 1000's of fans..............omg if that has a fan club i for one dispair

There always has been and always will be sick evil people in the world. It's a sad part of the human race, if those people can be categorised in the human section???
taff1: I'm not sure either mate. Anyway he's off the planet now thankfully.
The fact is the world is a better place without those sort of people. The thing is how would those kids deal with the effects of what he has done. The thing is the ripple effect of one mans actions.
What is even more disturbing apart from the disgusting attitude of Facebook, the morons who praised him and the media making a mileaage meal out of it all as usual are the underlying unaswered questions as to 1. Why his relations did not do more for him and halp him when they knew he was mentally ill and possibly dangerous. 2. Why, if the social services knew he was mentally ill did and had interviewed him did they not give him the appointments to see a trickcyclist regulalry and 3. Why, knowing what they did about him, did SS not liaise with the Police at that time and put them more fully in the picture before he finally went off the rails. 4. asthings developed after the murders IMO It would have been quicker and less expensive for the taxpayer to have got the SAS in on an undercover mission and let them deal with him as the Police public statements were on the whole, a farce worthy of the Keystone cops.

I'm with you, H .. I think ..
actually I'm torn between a basic, and I think understandable, longing for revenge and casting an eye over the deaths of two human beings that really should - and maybe could - have been avoided ..

The problem with all of these sick and sad things is the truth of it all will never be shared with the public we are told what they want us to hear.................. I have to say so much of these tragic events could be sorted out before they even begin if we all would just spend a bit more time listening to some people before they go off the rails...........

I think people like Moat must be known to the authorities way before such events ever happen, but they have to take human rights into consideration and so are limited in their actions - not to mention the tight budgets they have to keep to ..
What scares me much more is the type of case seen recently in Northern England when a 'perfectly normal' man shot all those people .. at least he was perfectly normal according to his family .. apparently switched into nutter mode in an instant .. again, of course, we don't know the truth ..

No-one is "perfectly normal" actually.......
And no-one really cares about anyone any more ....... So those types have no-one to take notice of them, who care enough, to take notice ...... everyone is too busy trying to survive in their own little space.
Facebook should be banned. Completely and Utterly. It`s turned into a farce and used to undermine safety and security, causing genocide in some countries..... and riots in others ... and drunken sprees in cities resulting in cripples and destroyed lives. Not its original intention, but used by unscrupulous people for their own ends and self-importance of "seeing themselves in print and making "power" decisions".

But in my post 'perfectly normal' means not accustomed to displaying acts of ultra violence against people - such as blowing them away with a shotgun. Rather than no-one, I think context most of us are that sort of 'perfectly normal' .. at least outside of our fantasy ..
but I agree with the general idea of that statement .. in fact I've said as much in an earlier post when I tried to say there is no such thing as 'those people like Moat' .. we are all people like Moat given the right set of circumstances ..
