Yesterday, the 3rd June, I went to the sea and swam! Choo-hoo!

And there were no jelly-fish – too cold for them. laugh

How’s your season? conversing

So bad? And they complain about Scandinavian weather!

I’ve planted four eucalypt seeds (each of different sort) on 3rd May (we had snowfall then), and one – oh, my citriodora! – is growing now on the window sill. Already 2 cm long! applause

Perhaps you’d try the same planting method – probability of winning over the climate is 25 %.

As to the frost – it wouldn’t prevent you from swimming, would it?

Yeah, that bad here, we had snow a few hours north of me, although I'm sure it'll melt today.uh oh

I've started plants indoors before, and most did well after planting them outside, except things like oregeno, thyme, etc., they all died. blues

I never learned how to swim, so yes, it would prevent me from swimming.laugh

Out of the sauna into the snow is ok though, or into the lake.joy

Try to grow something more frost-resistant, like penguins. Wat? An egg a year from a pair… well, but they support themselves on their own. The only thing you’d have to do is to follow them from and to the sea and chase occasional polar bears away from them. You’re going to be incredibly rich (and famous) within a half of a millennium. (Shall I get a pro cent or two for such a bright business idea?)laugh

As to swimming… It’s really very refreshing and deliberating, as sauna but in a slightly different way. If you learn to swim, you’ll never regret it.

It was the first night I slept without a blanket. It is becoming hot already. But haven't gone swimming yet. May do next week though.

My chrysanthemum plant is blossoming for the second time this year and I planted yesterday a pot with basilicum, oreganon, thyme and lavener.

My carnation plants are getting roots, and the geraniums have not stopped blossoming since I put them on my balcony.

Well… for the first, I was convinced that chrysanthemum blossom only at autumn.

For the second, I always thought that people, who live near a warm sea, just can’t do anything else but swim.

Your post made me review my picture of this world. laugh

But sounds like a very nice balcony you’ve got there.

hot sun but cool wind. People have been swimming in the lake for a couple of weeks already.

One of my colleagues told that someone of her friends swam in Kattegat on 30th April. She isn’t known as a liar, so I thought that was really cool. (In the meaning “bold”.)

Love that allegory Tat:

To grow some penguins and yes do NOT forget to chase the polar bears!!!

For the swimming...we do have plenty of warm beaches in wich we can swim the whole year, even during winter time.

Yeah… and in my next-next life I’m going to be a crab and live on a beach of always-summer sea. daydream

Though after a second though: here you also can swim even during the winter time – find a polynia, push your way through the seals, and – s’il vous plait! (Insider information: one doesn’t have to be crazy, but it helps…)

This year we had snow on 3rd May, and no, it doesn’t happen every year. But sea water here seldom warms beyond 20 C even during a very hot summer (and that doesn’t happen every year either.) But we are not spoilt by warmth here, so people utilize every opportunity to take off one or another layer of clothes and get some suntan. Gothenborgean suntan is when your hands and face, and perhaps décolleté, got some colour, but the rest of the body still is light-blue. laugh

And I’m suspecting that what you call “winter”, we here call “summer”.

cheers
