Welcome

Welcome to The Holodeck! I created this group for those that want to explore ways to improve your situations and overall quality of life by exploring today's new age concepts. I created this group in the hopes that I would attract open minded individuals interested in finding and applying solutions to change their future outcome for the best, in harmony with those around you and what ever belief system you have developed or subscribe too.

As you can see, I have and will continue to experiment with these concepts until I find answers that I can apply in practical everyday life. Knowledge alone is not power, applied knowledge is power.

If by any chance I happen to express myself as preachy or in a know it all way..it is not my intention. I am simply throwing around ideas and concepts that I may have convictions about, but may also change with time. I do believe that we must maintain an open mind and change with each proven applied concept or new revealing information.

yes, i played on the merry-go-round as well, preferring the center. how do you keep in the center, now that the merry-go-round is much bigger? (ps. awesome photos on your profile)

STAND IN BALANCE

When I was a child, I remember that my school had a merry-go-round. A popular game was for a bunch of kids to pile on while another group tried to spin it as fast as they could – in an effort to throw the riders off. I also remember that the best position to be in was directly in the center. When I would stand in the center of that merry-go-round I was not afraid of falling off like the other kids because all I had to do was stand while they hung on to the bars for dear life!

When you are in balance with the world, you are like the kid who stands in the center of this merry-go-round. You see clearly in all directions. You are in a state of being that is effortless. You are content, unafraid and have a general sense of well-being. From this position it is easier to see the glass as half full. We feel confident, grounded and comfortable, especially compared to those who are using all of their energy just to hold on. I think most people would agree that it is preferable to stand in this place of balance… so what happens that we move from this place at the center and lose our balance?

Life happens. The world is spinning at the speed of life and we can become complacent during the times when it spins slowly. When an event happens to take our attention away from this balance – such as kids, the house, the car, work, illness or death – the unaware can quickly lose balance. When these events occur there is a brief moment between what we “think” of the occurrence and how we “feel” about that event where we forget to be AWARE.
Life and world events can knock us off balance my friends, always remember the merry-go-round effect and center yourself back to balance so your path and direction are clear with clarity.

The Christain Bible

Here is an example of a verse in the bible that tells you the same thing in one verse “Mark 11:24 - "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you (NASB).”

Believing in something unseen requires faith. True belief in something received requires all actions of past tense, something that has already happened. This requires thankfulness and the emotions of joy that follows the receipt of something highly sought after or desired.

A New Earth

A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle

The second of his books that expands on how Echhart changed his life by "living in the now." He begins by explaining how mad mankind is with all his warring and destruction and how that is an extension of the EGOIC self and how to recognize and separate yourself from the ego and reach enlightenment.

He explains how the ego keeps us from simply being in the present and instead tied to thoughts, concepts, mind-stuff, endless identification with people, places, and things. He writes that your egoic self fills our minds with endless chatter, jealousy and selfish thoughts, negative or positive past experiences and how we can turn it off and focus on the present and now.

He attempts to awaken us to this major problem of mankind's egoic self and to get us to a higher state of awareness to improve our lives and the world.

I find this all tide into the secret and our ability to influence our physical universe to improve your lives.

As A Man Thinketh by James Allen 1968

Think and Grow Rich

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill published in 1937.
Napoleon Hill gives you the money-making secrets that earned Carnegie, and many of the world’s other most prominent people, unprecedented riches.
In the authors preface first paragraph and the first sentence of the second paragraph;
“IN EVERY chapter of this book, mention as been made of the money-making “secret” which has made fortunes for more than five hundred exceedingly wealthy men whom I have carefully analyzed over a long period of years.
“The secret” was brought to my attention by Andrew Carnegie, more than a quarter of a center ago. “
The techniques shown in his book are not much different that “the secret.” Right from the beginning of his introduction in the very first paragraph “TRULY, “thoughts are things,” and powerful things at that, when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a BURNING DESIRE for their translation into riches, or other material objects.”

He later lays out the 13 principles that lead to riches;

Although, this book is mostly geared toward money and prosperity, within all the 13 principles are “the secret.”
