sitting all alone here in my room my heart starts hurting when i think of you
it seems only moments of time have passed since you joined the angels caste
i remember you many years ago you were my angel that i wouldn't let go
i told you ''i love you'' each and every night asking god to see you in the morning light
i long for the times that we were so happy not giving a care about anything
if only the lord would give you back to me my heart would be healed and my soul so happy
i know that this can never be for the angels have you instead of me
i pray you're happy in heaven above and for you i'll never lose my love
and so my angel i shed a few tears and will see you soon as my time draws near.

About this poem:
this poem is about the only girlfriend who ever truly had my heart.that was 18 years ago.i hope to find someone someday just like her.until then i will be waiting and praying.
Hi, lonelywulf73, Like snowflakes, there will never be another "just like her"; but, there will be other loves with their own specialness. The magic of life is in seeing the beauty all around and honoring her memory by saying "Yes" to love and life. Thank you for sharing such a tender write.

I think it is lovely! It is sad to lose someone you care so deeply for. I hope everything works out for you in the future and that you keep expressing yourself in poetry.

very moving and very touching. You can feel the love in your words. It is so hard and rare to find a love as dear as what you had. I wish you joy and happiness and that you are able to find love once again. With a heart as big as yours I am sure that you will.
