THE LOVER

The lover like the bumble bee with pollen padded feet,
visited the prettiest roses and tasted nectar sweet.

The lover like the linnet, sang love song poetry,
heard by the pretty maidens
who smiled coquetishly.

The lover like swift evening moths, attracted to the flame,
they take a chance on life, but its a deadly game.

The lover like the serene swan, dedicated life to care, for his well loved life partner,
an inseperable pair.

About this poem:
I wrote this poem one Summer evening after watching a bumble be with two pollen pouches on a rose, he worked away feverishly oblivious of me in love with his work and flitting from rose to rose, thats when i thought about the similarity with the lover.
