Flame of Kindness

Let us show esteem to each other
Let us celebrate the life
Let us value people that we meet
As we pass this way but once

May we share a word softly spoken
And encourage those who pass by
Let our lives touch each tenderly
As we pass this way but once

May we help and not hinder
Let friendship be without cost
Since they tolerate and dismiss
Let us not be a part of this

Do then good to somebody
Kindness and compassion leave
Should you ever once feel cold
Find this flame nearby for you

st.3,l.2-I'm thinking he meant to give friendship to another without cost to them.

To be a friend, on the other hand, sometimes comes at a cost - one that a true friend is willing to pay. (Of course, will have to let the author answer that question to be sure of the answer-lol)

btw- Great wisdom & advice in your poem, Christian.

hi goodguy, let friendship be without cost, well things do cost i admit that, but my thought is that if the friendship is of such quality, then what we do even though it costs, is a sacrifice we have to take on.
it might cost you your evening out to sit in and babysit..or go out of your way for someone when you have other plans...thanks for the thought..
