A Beauty
Her stem grew til o'er a foot it stood
In her compost, none of mud
The bud atop was swollen til
One morn when I glanced at window sill
The bud was showing hints of red
I waited on, then found today
Her royal red beauty is on display
Her petals open, she's so true
Bright her flowers oh what hue!
She makes me smile as I write this
My beauteous Amaryllis
