This Is Me

Here I am
I am a musician without music
I am a lover without a love
I am a mother without a child
I am dog lover without a dog
I`m a farmer without land
I am a friend who is always there to listen
I care about the whole dumb world trying to take my humanity away
I am a crafter without crafts
A painter without paint
I am a singer without a voice
I am a smart person without an education
I am a philanthropist without the money to give
I am a daughter, always loved by an understanding father
I am a cousin, forgotten
I am a sister, a commodity to break instead of lean towards
I am a niece, without existence
I am an artist without inspiration
I am a photographer without film
I am not a beggar I work for my joys no matter how little
I am a worker without a job
I am a hugger, when you need me I am there to hold you
I have a heart bigger than most, but the one I love the most I fear doesn`t understand just how much
I am an exceedingly talented something or other...

This is me
I am a statistic
Not a human

About this poem:

Everything I need to move forward in life is denied me because I wasn`t born rich, nor am related to rich, nor auditioned for American Idol or America`s Top Model (And I don`t even like modeling), but the point is, I keep asking, I try to be cheerful, but when I hear no, we can`t help you, my self esteem plummets. When I hear "Oh your a musician?"
No, not really. I can`t afford a keyboard, song writing equipt, or even have a place I can sing...
When I`m told, I`m great with kids...all I can do is cry because I lost my son, and I can`t afford to have any children now, and never will.
What I want, what I dream for, what I bleed and cry for...doesn`t matter.
