Truth,Lies,Time to choose

Farewell half truths and lying speech,
corruption you have wrought
upon the souls of mortal man
when truth she should be sought.

Who knows when first that lie in us,
took hold and like a seed did grow
A white lie, a kind lie, acceptable became
and truth in its beauty lost its glow.

Economical with the truth,
embarrassed we defend with such
And the little acorn there became
a tree with lies so much.

And there entwined we find ourselves,
trapped by our tongue and heart
But time has come to cast them off
and bid them to depart.

Sail on the ship of truth
to waters clear and sweet
where beauty is the truth itself
and loving words there meet.

Not easy to get rid of such
it has to be said true
and full truth can be painful
well it's what we have to do.

Honesty, and speaking out
as you see it there,
and rise a phoenix from the ash
and to some clearer air.
