Locked up

The dragon,
Once a beautiful creature,
Now a demon of devilish features,
Scales once shining,
Like glittering gold,
Now covered with mud,
Faded and dull,
Claws like spears that used to shred men,
Filed down to nothing instead,
Red eyes staring,
Wrought with pain,
Once glowed so bright,
Now very plain,
Not meant to live in captivity,
He is locked in a cage for all to see,
Through the bars of a covered wagon,
They watch him die,
A poisoned dragon...
