It could be said we only met by chance We talked, laughed and even had a dance Though the hours were a measly few Oh alright it was really only two I have to say there was a connection It was more like a true recognition
So when I had to go and told you so And you whispered that I you had to know I was on cloud nine, eighteen and twenty seven As I checked my watched cleary showing eleven My ride impatiently tugging my arm once more I knew our goal was the same for sure
I knew I could catch your number real fast So I did thinking, "this is it at last" I got it right of that I was sure I even scribbled it in my hand by the door All the way home I thought of calling If I did then would it be appalling
I stopped for nourishment on the way "Hurry! It doesn't take long to pay" I called good night real quick at my gate Couldn't hear the last words I didn't wait I had to make a quick stop though I dashed Used the bathroom then my hands I washed
Now I was ready to call I headed to my room Then I realized my plans are doomed I hope you realize I meant to call If only I had not stopped in the hall If only I had think twice as I stood at the sink I would realize soap and water will erase ink

About this poem:
A friend shared her story. It was so funny I had to write.
