Lottery Ruined My Life

I have just won the lottery of two million dollars. I say this as the money I recieved after the taxes were taken out. It has been about a year and you ask how much is left? Answer, I am broke, nothing is left. Where did it go? Here is where it went. New cars for my whole family, plus gas, insurance, repairs = 300,000 dollars. So now we are down to 1,700,000. So then it's eating out every meal for me and my friends = 40,000 dollars. New house and land = 1 million, so now we're down to 660,000 dollars. I gave 10% to the church, so that's 200,000 dollars, now we're down to 460,000 dollars. I got to pay my bills and I spent 1,000 dollars a day at Walmart, Cabelas, the Mall of America, etc. So there is where the rest went as well as 10 movies a week, popcorn, pop, etc. etc. So here I am 275 pounds, broke, my friends who I took along on this journey are all over 200 pounds as well and we are more miserable than ever. The lottery ruined my life, don't let it ruin yours!

About this poem:
This is based on real people who have won the lottery and 90 percent of all football athletes who end up blowing their millions on frivolous things like limos, private jets, and fancy meals.

I'd say you pretty much nailed it solid on this one! At least there was enough wisdom exercised to purchase a home and land. Another humorous story to start my day off with! head banger

I think people lose contentment, when they have to much money. Its such ashame but its really how people become. The car isnt good enough, the house isnt big enough!! Somehow we lose our selves in the material things....nice read!!! Tyapplause thumbs up

good one. when you get that much money a person forgets to think about logic.

Nice read mcradoff,
Folk do tend to loose logic thought when a wallet is overflowing, it gets spent like toilet paper! haha.
Like Redex, I never do the lottery, as rich & happy with what I have now. Thanks for sharing.cheering beer

A fool and his money is soon departed
The reality in some cases if people can't manage what little they have they wouldn't know how to manage bigger things. Moderation is the key. If many of us can get along on little to nothing isn't unique how some here especially the women won't give the time or day unless they see that their men of interest has something on their plate to offer them?

Timely reminder Mcrad... only I wish I too won the lottery. Well, I know I won't ever as I don't buy lottery tickets but you nailed it in this write. Many winners managed their money well but I sure have known a few who ended up poorer after winning the lottery. wine

My mom sometimes manhandle me to buy at least a ticket a month for an unexpected windfall ... Well wishful luck with the ducks
I like this ..I almost won S$60'000 away from 1 football match but that unlucky team had to have 1 guy strike by lighting on a sunny day and died !
I got a consolation prize of $20 ... Not fair at all sigh
