Just because I sometimes can't find the words to speak Just because I sometimes falter or fall Just because my body has been damaged Doesn't mean I am different or weak
Just because my hair grew thinner, my skin pale Just because my memory can be lost Just because I was pumped full of poison Doesn't mean I'm going to fail
Just because I am barren, my fruit has gone Just because I am ageing now Just because you fear it, fear death Doesn't mean I'm to be forgotten
Just because I am me, my own salvation Just because I have friends, true and pure Just because I hold my head high Just because...
Our fear of death is universal, noone wants to die. Even those who choose to see God sooner really don't want to die, just escape the pain of living. I think the reason behind fear of death is that noone really knows for sure where we will go. If God or Jesus could show up every few years and reassure us everything is going to be fine, then people could relax and save their money from going to church and spend it on something more worthwhile, like going out to eat!
