I didn't fly into a fit of road rage
when you cut me off in traffic
I simply continued on my way

I smiled when you pushed your
way to the head of the line, even
though I was having a bad day

I listened to you brag about all
your bar room fights, and how
you whipped everybody at pool

I let you ramble on and on until
surely you thought you were
talking to the biggest fool

But the day you laided your hand
on that child and knocked her
into the dust
