Maybe I've set my
Mind and heart on
The alter of hope
Someone said, "Are
You kidding."
The world has gone
On the way it always
Has
The mountains have
Never moved
The rivers still run
To the ocean
The cow still chews
The cud as it ever
Has
And humanity.. still
Seeks to recind the
Curse of Adam
So what makes me
Such a happy
Camper
Well, umm..
Guess
Upon some timeless
Truth that, well
I still believe in
The stars of
Every forgotten
Hope
I still believe that
Joy of heart, soul,
And spirit is the
Most cherished
Prize
I still believe that
A constructive mind
That seeks the betterment
Of us all is the key
To every lovely thing
And that we may possibility
Weary the stars of our dreams
If we fall short of of
Divine providence that with
Outstretched arms calls
Us in still small voices
That we..
Only we..
Can take up the
Mantel of the
Dreams of God
Or, languish in
A sphere that will
Never rise beyond
The level of
Our own
Minds
Surely the sun
Will rise, and the
Moon will give
It's sleepy light
Yet all the power
Within us shall
Be weighed in
The scales of Every
Word we speak.
