Electric Saga


at nine they turned off our power
up-dates to the system to make
four weeks warning we had
I thought I had it all sussed

knowing no central heating would I have
I stayed up, went to bed at 7 am
when I awoke around midday
Oh, No my adjustamatic bed didn't work

so up I struggled to get
boiled water on the stove for tea
burnt the toast under the grill
then picked up the phone shush it needs power

Dead as a dodo it was
Oh, Heck I forgot to charge up my mobile
Flat battery I found it had
I am such a twit to forget its juice

I went and asked how long til it's back on
about 30 minutes they said (it was 90)
now I know how hard it must have been
back in days of yore

before we got that little magic spark
the flow of current we call electricity
I think there is a morale here lol
never take luxuries for granted
