What is a Shadow? When you walk or run you give it life, But when the light's reflection is gone it disappears, that is Until, the sun comes up or the street lights go on. But were does this lifeform go in the absence of light ?
Does it die or is it reborn again, it can't be the case Of life as we know it. The Shadow always manages to come Back when the sun is high, and it follows you everywhere It seems to be an entity, a phantom that can reinvent
Itself at will. It is more than just a reflection of our human Aura, it is a creation brought about by light. It cannot talk, Eat or sleep and it is not a living being as we know it But it never dies because it has never lived. It is a
Nondescript lifeform that is always present in light conditons. It cannot be explained but it seems as real as you or I. In the Shadow World we would be the reflection of the Shadow.

Hi Shadow, the poem was not a tribute to you, it was basically about our two reflections, the one in the mirror and the one that hangs around us in sunlight, I thought it might be an interesting topic,I never get stuck in any particular poetry genre and as you know I tend to brend the rules of poetry a lot to give poets a touch of my other writing skills. I will be bringing the next installment of Black Dove at start of next month as is a tradition, at the moment I don't know how many chapters there will be before I reveal the serial's conclusion, it may be 12 or 15 parts as based on the original format of the movie serials on the cinema, but there may be a sequel or even a new replacement serial, that is if I continue doing poetry here, I am doing poetry also on poetry.com, where my old poems are being posted at present, when you post one over there you have to review 2 other poems before it is published, it is very good and I will be writing for both websites at the same time, They are only on part one of Black Dove over there so they trail this site, I have a lot of my poems also on Facebook and Pinterest.com so as you can see I am a busy man, I am getting plenty of viewings around the world, so I have the fame without the fortune. I am always thinking of new ideas regarding writing, so who knows what I come up with in the future, all I can say is watch this space. well that's about it from me Linda, all the best to you and thank you for your comments as always. I like this one, a shadow being a reflection of us and part of our Aura. I found it interesting and kind of magical, can almost see my shadow in a new light. Inspires stories

Hi Beautifulyou, I am so pleased you enjoyed this poem about the "Shadow", I decided to give it form and life for this poem, I have also just written a poem called "Mirror Image" which gives similar treatment to a reflection in the mirror, oddly enough my friend Shadow1950(Linda) has also posted a poem called "Mirror" which I have read but when I wrote "Mirror Image" was unaware of her poem, the stories are totally different but it is rather funny how two minds can think alike. I recommend her story and soon my own version. I often use dramatic narration, I suppose I was inspired by Rod Serling (Twilight Zone) and also the great cinema documentary voice overs of the past, but my all my narration is of my own creation. it seems a lot more entertaining that straight out poems. I will continue to give 110% on all my poems here, if you are disappointed by any you read please comment how you feel. All the best to you BU. John
I really liked your poem. I also like shadow puppets I have noticed there are times when this thing called shadow can be very scary. You see a shadow and turn to look to find what is making this scary looking thing?

Hi Happygolucky, I have never heard of Shadow Puppets but they sound a bit scary, I am pleased that you enjoyed this poem I wrote a sequel which I posted last night entitled "The Mirror Image" it is about the kin to our shadow our own reflection in the mirror, they do have certain similarities, please feel free to read some of my large collection of amazing poems, each one has it's own character and style, I seem destined to become a poet as I wanted to write stories instead, I entered a poetry competition and entered my first poem "Life" (Rhyming), it won best new poem so I tried again 2 more times then stopped, I came here looking to find a partner, but found this poetry site instead, so I posted the 3 poems and the other 9 I wrote after, I was done then until I found a fan who asked me to keep writing the rest is history, still here doing my thing, and getting better all the time. I would love to hear your comments and please don't hold back if they are bad, just tell me, I prefer direct honest comments, I wish you well. John
