Prarie Thoughts

My heros have always been cowboys,
I've heard a song to say.
And my heros always were cowboys,
That roamed on screen and stage.
Ole Roy and Gene and Hop-A-Long,
The Lone Ranger and Tonto too,
They taught me the difference,
tween right and wrong by the things I'd see them do.
Those lessons have stuck through out the years,
Why I live them to this day.
I'd rather work cattle for 500 a month,
Than go the welfare way.
I don't feel comfortable in a crowd,
Or at a football game.
Just give me the open air to breath,
For a spirit that won't be tamed.
A cocktail party it aint my thing,
And I think it's kind of keen,
That I'd rather give my horse a smooch,
Than any ole beauty queen.
