Food For The Soul

The musics insistent beat
flows through the night air
filling my heart up with joy
setting my feet tap tapping

The drummer sets the beat
the guitars keeping in time
hauntingly the notes soar out
the world for a moment paused

Listening, uplifted , knowing
history is being made tonight
as the fiddler sweeps his bow
across the strings creating magic

As the last notes fade away
the audience goes totally wild
encore by the dozen they want
so on the music soars and flows

Hi Linda, How very romantic, it reminds me of early England when you would go to a restaurant and they would play music for you when you were enjoying your food, or if you were lovers maybe a candle lit dinner, I was too young at the time a was about 10 then, but it was a nice atmosphere, your poems are always interesting, I feel everyone on CS bring there own style of poetry whether it is first class or just starting as a beginner, it gives us all a great variety of literature to read here. lol.
