A Damsel Longed for a Knight (Villanelle)

A damsel longed for a knight
a man to fight to fight for her causes
with whom she could love and unite

To be with for eternity
to kiss him under the arches
a damsel longed for a knight

A fine brave warrior to fight
protect her from evil witches
with whom she could love and unite

Dance a few reels with tonight
wearing a dress with fine brooches
a damsel longed for a knight

A knight to help her feel safer
a man who would spare her farces
with whom she could love and unite

At last she met her shining knight
together alone she blushes
a damsel longed for a knight
with whom she could love and unite

not that hard M.M the count is 8 syllabus per line 3 lines per verse but last verse is 4 lines
lines 1 & 3 alternate through the 1st 5 verses then join to form last 2 lines of final verse. Odd lines rhyme with each other. Even lines rhyme with each other the poem must make sense in its flow and you got yourself a villanelle. Give it a go

Hi Shadow,
I don't know how you do all these different styles. Me, i'm that dippy I didn't even know there were different styles. That shows the pro's from the amateurs. I'm in the amateur camp, it's much easier. You wont believe it I lost my horse at Cafe's castle, probably still walking around there. Seriously though, I did enjoy this piece even though I have no idea about styles.
