All's fair in love and war they say.... What do they know of Sleepless nights and fatal fights What do they know of little bodies Cowering in fear At raised voices and shouts that end with despair How is it fair when you're only Six going on sixty And you wonder what's going on between mummy and daddy Tell me how is it fair When the moving van has come And you hear the arguments And then the shout No! Not that one! That Is Mine! I Bought It From Overtime! How is it fair to be shuttled from here to there Staring out the window with glassy eyes Because you're fed up of all the lies... It's okay They say... We love you anyway An endless litany A tune without melody How is it fair... Please, somebody... tell me!

About this poem:
A child.... separation of parents, the more I thought about it the more it evoked ire in me.... It just sort of jumped out at me... this one for the children and yet, so inadequate...

Hello Diana Excellent Write! The statement "All's fair in love and war" is just a cliché. It does not apply to reality as your brilliant piece shows.

its not fair! and not the same in war and love. .. when the war is over. . enemies becomes friends and allies but in love and hate. . . it is the same cold shoulder and slandering each other
and of course they are selfish coz they want chicks and hunks believing they are immortals
