Once Upon A SIlent night

There is a silence in the night heard only by my soul,
And the snow falls gently,in large soft flakes , upon the earth.
There is a crisp, clear vision of driveway, lantern lights casting
brightness on the snowy yard they are as Christmas lights without
The color , white as th e snow they reflect'
one could hear a pin drop on the snow as it piles waist high.
A nut burried in Fall has brought a squrriel near,
digging his way to the hidden food beneath the snow.
The trees, as bare as baby, stand motionless, their
Stick arms piercing the cold air, reaching for the slightest feel
of any rising heat.
Then a slight whistle, a slight wind
Breaking the stillness.
And large snowflakes carress the earth at snail speed.

ZThank you love for nice comments. Glad you see beauty in Winter as I do . People here hate the snow but they don't have the vision we do.
