Autumn Fires

Autumn fires sparkle;
stars laugh joyously in the night.
The wind dances round the dreamer,
As the day brings on the light.

The earth rich and pungent,
You can feel it in the air.
The fires start to dwindle,
as the dreamer wakes to dare.

Hold your dreams and keep them,
For they become the key
To waking inspiration.
Come away and dream with me.

About this poem:
I wrote this poem in response to a friend calling me a "dreamer". It's still one of my favorite poems I've written. The idea that dreams and dreamers are necessary to waking inspiration is a beautiful thought. Where would we be today without the dreamers of the past?
