You offering me subtle approval
with a hiss?
Ah the cold winter snow dancing upon
your face I hear your breath panting
in a passionate pace

You came to me for no apparent reason
in the summer season
yet, you seemed preoccupied
with drama you chose to hide.

I saw a fair maiden rather tattered and torn
She had a lovely form but a bit forlorn
and for a moment we bonded with a similar hardship
and regret and its now quite hard to forget

Suddenly without a cause you shut me out
and locked your door and denied me a chance
to offer love you could have endured

You told me briefly of your story of being nothing
but a crack whore but I saw something that you could
have been better and more.

Yet, apparently you saw there was no real hope for a lost woman
on dope. So, you chose to shut out the love that could have helped
you to cope

Yes, you are free to choose to believe what you think is right
yet, do consider your current plight.
Nobody can offer healing to those who have no feeling.

Nevertheless a lesson learned for now I know how someone
else who offered me a better way to see and in my arrogance
I pushed her away as you did to me.

Always consider the greatest regret is when love comes our way
don't shut it out because it may not ever come back another day

In the end one has to consider who betrayed who
How often do we hurt ourselves with denial of love
when a quick fix with a vial fits so much better like a glove?

At least with a fix you know what to expect
with people nobody is perfect and you don't know
what you're going to get !!
